New Hotel Discount: Rialto Hotel!

Accent Inns and Four Points Sheraton are too far outside downtown Victoria, which is where all the best food and stuff to do is found, as well as the hotel where Nate and I will be staying (Chateau Victoria).

I’ve released half the rooms at Accent Inns and Four Points and gotten a block of rooms at a brand new boutique hotel downtown called Hotel Rialto.

Thanks to Everyone!

It was awesome and excellent to see so many people at the Detroit Shower. Thanks everyone who showed up, particularly those I haven’t seen in such a long time. Thanks to Marlene and Dad for hosting the party, to Mom for helping out with the food, to my soon-to-be-mother-in-law for coming all the way out from San Diego to attend, and to my sisters for helping to orchestrate the whole thing.

That was the last stop before the wedding. 50 something days and counting. Yikes!

Rehearsal Dinner is scheduled for the evening of 8/28. A venue is yet to be determined. All our out of town guests, family and friends are invited to this event! If you’re in town on Friday night and want to hang out, come out and join us! We will let you know where the dinner will be held.

We would like to have a meet and greet over sumptuous snacks and (if you partake) cocktails (or soda and sparkling juices for the SDAs of us) on Saturday night in one of the lounges at our hotel, Chateau Victoria.

Cheap Airfare!

The airfares are at all time lows now! Who knows how long this will last? Especially since the Summer Travel rush might be happening soon, in addition to gas hikes for the summer travel season.

Visit Kayak.com to compare airfare from all air lines from your city to Victoria, BC, Vancouver, BC, or Seattle, WA.

Now would also be a good time to book your tickets for the Washington State Ferry (Anacortes port), British Columbia Ferries (Vancouver-Tsawassen), and Car Rental.

I recommend the BC Ferries route. You may also want to consider adding GPS or Navigation to your car rental if it is reasonably priced. If not, consider buying a state map for WA and a Province Map BC which has a special focus on Vancouver Island. Maps will be necessary, as Victoria is small, but not 100% walkable.

Hello & Save the Date

Hello friends, family, countrymen and women. By now you’ve probably received your “Save The Date” card (pictured, left). Apologies if they’re making it to your mailbox little later than we would have liked. Hopefully they’re not too late. From what we can tell, plane tickets are at an all-time low at the moment, so perhaps the timing is just right. Anyway – we only printed a few of these, and we sent out even fewer. We’re anticipating a not-too-big, enjoyably-sized, intimate wedding – so we’re hoping everyone who was notified can make it.

We’re really happy so many people have already verbally RSVP’d and are ready to make the trek to BC with us. Having just returned from my second trip there last month, I can honestly say it’s among the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. No matter where you are in life, we’re pretty sure you’ll be able to find something to love about BC and specifically Vancouver Island.

We’ll be posting more and more info here as the big day gets closer. Send us your email address (via “Get in Touch”) and we’ll keep you informed of updates, etc.

Thanks for stopping by. We hope to see you there.
